This is a search for darkness in light, conducted in 2016.
A woodcut measuring almost 12 metres, this work is made using the lost wood technique from two 63 x 80 cm wooden boards. The very special technique involves engraving the wooden plate on which the image is created until it disappears. Each print is an intermediate stage of the woodcut. Nine stages of each plank were printed and designed to be intercalated to create an overall composition.
A complete copy of this forest was donated and accepted by the prints and photography department of the BnF in 2025.
